No
fewer than two persons lost their lives in a multiple road accident that
occurred yesterday along Owo-Ikare road in Ondo State.
According
to eyewitness, the identity of the two people that lost their lives in the
accident were not known, but the source said they were candidates of JAMB
Examination who were going to their examination venues.
The
eyewitness explained that the crash involved a Volvo tipper, a Nissan Almara
and a white Peugeot J5 bus, adding that two of the three vehicles involved in
the accident were coming from Offa in Kwara State when the Incident occurred.
He narrated that a Volvo truck overtook the peugeot bus while trying to
negotiate a bend and in the process collided with the Nissan Almara car which
was conveying the JAMB candidates from the opposite direction.
Confirming
the Incident, the Head of Operations of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in
Ikare Akoko, Mr. Samuel Ibitoye disclosed that two of the five applicants
sitting for the Examination died instantly while the other three were badly
Injured.
Ibitoye
added that the injured victims were immediately rushed to Ikare Specialist
hospital and Iwaro General hospital for treatment.
The
corpses of the deceased have since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
As
at press time, the Identities of the victims were not known.
