Lupita may have just signed a lucrative contract with Lancome Paris but she "never dreamed" she would be touted as "Most Beautiful" for the entire world to see, according to People.
The actress immediately took to Twitter to express her happiness:
"It was exciting and just a major, major compliment,” the
31-year-old says of gracing this year’s cover. And especially, I was happy
for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."
Lupita took home the Oscar this year for Best Female Supporting Actress for her role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave. During her
acceptance speech she moved the crowed and offered inspiration to any young
woman who aspires to go where she has gone in her career.
"When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me,
and every little child that no matter where you are from your dreams are
valid."
Also of note is her famous skin colour speech at this year's Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon where she confessed
how 'she prayed for God to change her skin color to white every night before
going to bed'.Well, we are guessing girlfriend needs no skin-color-prayer-change right now because "she's beautiful just the way she is."
