It seems there is a silent war that has refused to die between
Nollywood star actresses, Ini Edo and Rita Dominic over what many of their
close friends say emanate from their dalliance with Akwa Ibom State governor,
Godswill Akpabio.
As the
story goes, before Ini got married to Phillip Ehiagwina, she was very close to
the governor of her state and she had free access to the man who doled out
loads of money to her.
At a
point, Ini Edo was the unofficial link person for Nollywood stars who trooped
down to the state at every given opportunity, knowing that the star struck
governor will surely fill their pockets and they were never
disappointed. Of course, Ini had a way of getting some cuts from her
colleagues.
The bone
of contention between Ini and Rita, however, is said to be as a fall-out of
Rita's betrayal. The news peddlers say that after Ini gave Rita a link to
Akpabio, Rita decided to play smart by always sneaking to Uyo, the state
capital, without letting Ini know about her clandestine moves.
When Ini
got to know about this, she took it out on Rita and the two have become enemies
since then, with the Onna, Akwa Ibom born actress not ready to forgive Rita for
betraying her.
