The Custodian April 13, 2014
A
former Senate Chief Whip and a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
in Rivers State, Senator Adawari Pepple has said that the people of the state
will not support the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According
to him, APC is a party known for its high-headedness , imposition and lack of
focus.
Pepple
told Source on Saturday that he and the people of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government
Area were fully in support of the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom
Wike, becoming the next governor of Rivers state in 2015.
He said he is supporting the candidacy of the Minister because he possesses the
right political acumen and humane character that has endeared him to the
people.
Pepple
said Wike should not be blamed for the crisis in the education sector, saying
he has tried his best under the circumstances, especially the protracted
industrial action.
Noting
that the first four years of Governor Rotimi Amaechi witnessed huge
development, the chieftain however lamented that the last three years has been
the opposite because the governor â€started playing politics and hob-nobbing
with the opposition and abandoned his core responsibilities to the Rivers
people.
