The
police in Enugu State, on Wednesday, arrested fourteen members of the Movement
for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.
The
suspected MASSOB members were arrested by operatives of the No 3 Police Mobile
Force, Enugu, who were on stop and search duty along Enugu Abakiliki Road by
Amechi Idodo.
Confirming
the arrest to Source, the Police Spokesman in Enugu State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu,
DSP, said the MASSOB members were being conveyed by a driver identified as one
Ezeugwu Fabian with a Ford Transit Bus with registration number Ebonyi AKL 400
YU.
He gave the names of the suspects as Ugwu Ogbonna, John Mgbada, Nkwuda Michael,
Ishieke chukwuma Adaka, Augustine Ikele, Adaka moses, Mbam Friday, Nwuguru
Paul, Nwony Uchenna, Okenwe Lazarus, Joseph Omeonu, Abel onyeibe, and Mbam
John.
Amaraizu
further stated that items recovered from the suspects include identity cards
and caps believed to be that of MASSOB, banners with inscription ‘AGBEGBE MUST
GO’.
“They
are expected to be appear in court soon”, he added.
