Chelsea
captain John Terry, has revealed that they already knew the result of the
Liverpool vs Manchester City game, before they took on Swansea at the Liberty
Stadium.
Liverpool
clinched a dramatic 3-2 win over Manchester City at Anfield in Sunday’s early
kick-off, to pull the Reds five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
However, the Blues laboured to a 1-0 win over Swansea to cut the lead to two
points, after Demba Ba struck the winner in the second half.
Terry
disclosed that before the match, Jose Mourinho told them about the result and
demanded they should focus on their own game.
“We obviously knew about it and looking at the result, it’s probably the one we
wanted,” Terry told Sky Sports 1.
“It
was important, as the manager said before the game, that we knew that
regardless of that result if we don’t win our games we’ll make it very easy for
them.
“But
we’ve won our game and the pressure is still on the teams above and below us.
“I
think patience was the key today especially after they had their man sent off
not long into the game.
“Sometimes
we weren’t patient or at our best but we got the three points today and we’ll
take them home.”
