Mr. Jonathan was billed to pay a condolence visit to the state over the passing of late Monarch, Ado Bayero.
Although, the riot that broke out after official announcement by the state government is being seen as the reason for the president’s aborted trip, many believe Sanusi’s victory and the need for strategic planning may have necessitated the decision.
Sanusi reportedly spent the weekend at the Government House to avoid possible arrest by operatives of Department of State Security.
It has been reported that one of the contestants for the stool may go to court to challenge Sanusi’s emergence.
DailyPost gathered that dissatisfied by the kingmakers’ choice, some powerful forces want status quo maintained while the litigation is slugged out in court.
Meanwhile, security agents are now keeping watch on all roads leading to the already cordoned palace which still accommodates a number of the late Emir’s relatives.
In the meantime, the emirate’s four kingmakers: Alhaji Yusuf Nabani (Madakin Kano); Alhaji Sarki Abdullahi (Makaman Kano); Alhaji Bello Tuta (Sarki Dawaki Mai-Tuta); and Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan (Sarki Bai) are under police cover to avoid possible attack.
